Primary care for the life you are actually living.
Whole Family MD is at 1286 Sanchez Street at 26th Street in Noe Valley. I care for patients of all ages. I want to know you when you are well, be there when something changes, and understand enough of your life and health that we can make good decisions together.
Primary care is more than the annual visit.
A good primary-care relationship should be useful when you are well, when something changes, and when another physician gets involved. It should include prevention, acute concerns, chronic disease, medication review, mental health, reproductive and hormonal changes, and the ordinary questions that do not fit neatly into a specialist’s lane.
Prevention
Screening, immunizations, cardiovascular risk, bone health, family history, and the things worth watching before they become problems.
Ongoing conditions
Hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disease, mood disorders, chronic pain, autoimmune concerns, and other long-term health needs.
Coordination
Making specialist recommendations, imaging, medications, and follow-up fit into one coherent plan.
San Francisco is home.
I grew up here, went to Lowell, returned to UCSF for residency, and now practice in Noe Valley. I care for patients from Noe Valley and throughout San Francisco.

What people usually mean when they search for “the best primary care doctor.”
There is no objective ranking that can tell you who the best doctor is for you. The better question is whether the physician’s training, style, availability, scope, and judgment fit what you need.
What ages do you see?
All ages. Family medicine is built around caring for people across the lifespan, from childhood through older age. I also value the context that comes from caring for more than one generation of a family.
Do you see teens?
Yes. Teen and adolescent primary care is part of family medicine, including preventive visits and helping young people gradually take more ownership of their health.
Do you provide menopause care?
Menopause and perimenopause are part of comprehensive primary care. Evaluation and treatment depend on symptoms, medical history, preferences, risks, and whether specialty involvement is useful.
